Welcome! This is the first post of what is to be a collaborative Cy-Hawk sports blog on the Iowa State Cyclones and the Iowa Hawkeyes. The blog will be written by two students, one from ISU and the other from UI. Here's a little background on us-

Matt Van Winkle:

Junior journalism major at Iowa State University. From San Jose, CA, moved to Ames in 2005. Has followed Iowa State athletics since, and currently works for 1430 KASI radio station in Ames (they cover Cyclone sports) as well as being a sports anchor for Newswatch. Follow on twitter: @mattvanwinkle

Isaac O. Strohman:

Junior Finance major at the University of Iowa. From Ames, IA (ironic, I know). Former Cyclone fan converted Hawkeye upon going to school in Iowa City. Has followed Iowa State and Iowa sports since childhood. Plays alto saxophone in the Hawkeye Marching Band. Follow on twitter: @iostrohman
